360°kids has been providing support services to at-risk and homeless youth in York Region for the past 27 years. Our primary focus is providing aid and support to at-risk and homeless youth. 360°kids is a one-stop agency where young people at-risk can access safe, supportive housing for the day, the night or as long as a year. We offer a full range of support services —clothing and food, personal support, outreach, counselling, life skills training, education upgrading and job searching—designed to help youth get back on their feet.

4 Korners Family Resource Center (Regional: Deux-Montagnes, QC)

Provides shelter and support for the homeless and disadvantaged. The organization serves single adults, couples, families and children. They provide 24-7 access in an empathetic and non-judgmental environment.

ABOVAS (Local: Pointe-Claire, QC)

ABOVAS offers an accompanied-transport service to vulnerable people living in the West Island on the island of Montreal, Québec. Our volunteer companions drive them, stay with them and bring them back home. We prioritize recurring treatments, cancer for example.

Access Pro Bono Society of BC (APB) (Regional: Vancouver, BC)

The Access Pro Bono Society of BC (APB) is a charitable organization whose mission is to promote access to justice in British Columbia by providing and fostering quality pro bono (free) legal services for people and nonprofit organizations of limited means. APB operates over 100 free legal advice clinics in communities throughout BC. APB also offers legal assistance and representation through its BC-wide Roster Program, the Civil Chambers Program in Vancouver and the Children’s Lawyer Program in Victoria.

Access Pro Bono – Mental Health Program (Regional: Vancouver, BC)

Access Pro Bono (APB), a nonprofit organization, administers the Mental Health Program. This program enables lawyers and law students work together to represent involuntarily detained persons at tribunals who are unable to represent themselves.

Acclaim Health (Regional: Oakville, ON)

Active Career Advancement Project (ACAP) (Local: Toronto, ON & Vancouver, BC)

A national pilot project that works towards helping internationally trained professionals (ITPs) use some or all of their previously acquired skills in a profession relevant to their trained field. ACAP also assists employers in better engaging ITPs. ACAP offers integrated services to support underutilized ITPs to re-position themselves in alternative careers related to their expertise and to assist employers in hiring, developing and retaining ITPs who are highly qualified but underutilized within their workforce.

The Canadian Centre for Victims of Torture (CCVT) aids survivors of torture, war, genocide and crimes against humanity to overcome the lasting effects of torture and war. Changing Ways (Regional: London, ON)

Changing Ways helps men to eliminate their abusive and violent behaviour in their primary and intimate relationships, offering group counselling for men who either have been referred to come here or who join voluntarily. The organization also takes on a large correctional population of clients who have been convicted of domestic violence and have been court ordered to attend the program.

Charityworks (Regional: Vancouver Island, BC)

Charityworks provides grant application editing and support for nonprofits in the Capital Region of Vancouver Island. They also organize workshops and send updates to keep their members informed.

Seventh Step Society of Canada

Open twice a week, this organization works to supply people who are in need with as much fresh food as possible so that they get some healthy food to eat. They glean fruit and vegetables and buy things like milk, eggs and some meat & fish. There are no qualifications to receive, only that people are in need, with the exception that if they can prove to have children living at home, they will receive an extra 2 litres of milk each week.

Sierra Leonean Community of British Columbia (SLCBC) (Regional: Burnaby, BC)

The SLCBC is a nonprofit, social and advocacy organization working to strengthen relationships within the Sierra Leonean Community in BC. They engage in topical issues of interest to the members of the organization including addressing issues and needs in Canada and in Sierra Leone.

Success Skills Centre (Local: Winnipeg, MB)

The main objective of Success Skills Centre is to advocate for recognition of its clients’ skills and education, and help remove barriers immigrant and refugee professionals and skilled workers encounter, which interfere with their ability to utilize their skills and training in Canada. The Centre provides employment and career assistance and training.

A confidential information/referral provider for Sturgeon County and Fort Saskatchewan (Alberta), this organization connects residents to community information, services and supports. They are also a Parent Link Centre satellite site offering a toy lending library and parent resources.

Sunset Area Victim Crisis Assistance Service (Local: Kenora, ON)

This organization is a not-for-profit community response program that provides immediate, short-term, emotional and practical support as well as referral services to victims of crimes and tragic circumstances. They operate 24 hours per day, seven days per week.

Sunshine Dreams for Kids

Sunshine Dreams for Kids makes dreams come true for children ages 3 to 19 who are challenged by severe physical disabilities or life-threatening illnesses. Since 1987, we have helped fulfill the dreams of almost 5,000 children across Canada.

Support Network, The

Located in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, the Support Network is a “first call for help” for the community. We’re here to make sure there is somewhere that people can turn. You can always talk to us. Our centre offers helplines you can call, suicide prevention and bereavement support, a walk-in counselling centre and information on community services.

Supported Training and Rehabilitation in Diverse Environments (STRIDE) (Regional: Milton, ON)

Vancouver Rape Relief

Opened in 1973 by two women, we have grown into a volunteer feminist collective joined together in the fight to end violence against women. In the fall of 1981, we opened a transition house to offer women more safety, more time to organize their lives, a place to dream and scheme together.
